Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct for Faculty

Faculty should:

  1. Maintain active membership of professional organizations and strive to improve education and the profession through them.
  2. Perform their duties in the form of teaching, tutorial, practical, seminar, and research work conscientiously and with dedication.
  3. Co-operate and assist in carrying out functions relating to the educational responsibilities of the college and the university such as: assisting in appraising applications for admission, advising and counseling students as well as assisting in the conduct of university and college examinations, including supervision, invigilation, and evaluation.
  4. Participate in extension, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities, including community service.
  5. Respect the right and dignity of the student in expressing his/her opinion.
  6. Deal justly and impartially with students regardless of their religion, caste, political, economic, social, and physical characteristics.
  7. Recognize the differences in aptitude and abilities among students and strive to meet their individual needs.
  8. Encourage students to improve their attainments, develop their personalities, and at the same time contribute to community welfare.
  9. Inculcate among students a scientific outlook and respect for physical labor, as well as ideals of democracy, patriotism, and peace.
  10. Be affectionate to the students and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.
  11. Pay attention only to the attainment of the student in the assessment of merit.
  12. Refrain from inciting students against other students, colleagues, or the administration.
  13. Faculty members should not exploit students for private advantage.
  14. Faculty members should maintain a subject file for the subject they are teaching, which will contain the attendance register, sample question papers of university and internal examination, teaching plan, teaching plan compliance, syllabus, etc.
  15. If any faculty member leaves the institution, he/she should deposit all the records of the subjects taught by him, including the subject file, with the concerned Head of Department.
  16. Faculty members should maintain confidentiality regarding student performance.
  17. Specific critiques of performance should not be discussed, even with colleagues, unless there is an academically grounded reason for that discussion.
  18. Co-operate in the formulation of policies of the institution by accepting various offices and discharging responsibilities that such offices may demand.
  19. Co-operate with the authorities for the betterment of the institution, keeping in view the interests and dignity of the profession.
  20. Adhere to the conditions of the contract.
  21. Refrain from availing themselves of leave except on unavoidable grounds and, as far as practicable, with prior intimation, keeping in view their particular responsibility for completion of the academic schedule.
  22. Try to ensure, through teachers’ bodies and organizations, that institutions maintain contact with the guardians of their students, send reports of their performance to the guardians whenever necessary, and meet the guardians in meetings convened for the purpose of mutual exchange of ideas and for the benefit of the institution.
  23. Work to improve education in the community and strengthen the community’s moral and intellectual life.
  24. Be aware of social problems and take part in such activities as would be conducive to the progress of society.
  25. Perform the duties of citizenship, participate in community activities, and shoulder responsibilities of public offices.
  26. Refrain from taking part in, subscribing to, or assisting in any activities which tend to promote feelings of hatred or enmity among different communities, religions, or linguistic groups, but actively work for national integration.

Code of Conduct for Students

General Rules and Regulations for Students:

Attendance of following functions is compulsory for all students

  1. a) Independence Day.
  2. b) Republic day.
  3. c) Birth and Death Anniversary of great Indian personalities.

Students shall always keep the college clean and ensure the surroundings are also clean and tidy.

Once a student is admitted to any of the course in the college, he/ she must abide by the following rules and regulations.

❖ Discipline

1) The Student must carry identity card with them in the campus and produce it on demand by authority.

2) Students must park their vehicles in the allotted parking area only and bicycles with proper lock system.

3) Dress code for all courses is compulsory.

Shorts, short tops, short skirts and bermudas are not allowed. 12Teachers’ instructions in this respect shall be followed.

4) Use of mobile cell is not allowed in the college campus. Students should be aware that mobile phones, or similar electronic instruments are switched off in classrooms, library and during any activity in the college. 22If such instruments ring or are used during classes, in the library or during activities, the instruments are liable to be confiscated by the college authorities, or fine may be imposed by the college.

5) Smoking cigarettes or taking any addictive substance in college premises including the canteen, parking, classrooms etc. is prohibited and if found doing these, the student must be liable for disciplinary action.

6) Each student shall behave in a good manner, both within and outside the campus of the College as a student of a prestigious College. Each student shall show due respect and courtesy towards Senior Citizens, Visitor, Principal, Teachers & Non teaching staff of the college as well as the Heads of other units in the campus.

7) Student should not involve himself/herself directly or indirectly in indisciplinary activities like theft case/ragging/fighting/quarreling/use of abusive language/ misbehave with fellow students, juniors/seniors within campus or with outsiders and also with staff members, failing which appropriate action shall be initiated against him/her as necessary.

8) Lack of courtesy and decorum; inappropriate conduct within and outside the College; willful damage to College property; removal of any property belonging to the College, fellow students or other personnel of the College; use of abusive and offensive language; disturbing fellow students in their studies, breach of rules and regulations of the College; adoption of unfair practices in tests, quizzes, assignments, or examinations, noisy and unruly behavior shall constitute violation of the code of conduct.

9) Loud talking, loitering or congregating, being a source of distraction and annoyance to others is not permitted.

10) Student must attend lectures / seminars / debates/functions arranged by the college, for their overall personality development.

11) Minimum 80% attendance in regular theory and practical classes is compulsory for grant of term. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to appear for examinations.

12) Students are expected to actively participate in extra-curricular activities organized by the college from time to time.

13) Students must go through various notices and circulars displayed on the notice boards of the college from time to time regarding all activities including examinations, scholarships and placement opportunities.

14) Damage to the college property e.g. furniture, building, books, equipment etc. caused by the students will be duly recovered from them.

15) Undertaking should be given against ragging.

Important instructions about Ragging :-

Strict actions will be taken against those students who are found in Ragging activities at College_premises and in hostels as per the norms laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

The following actions will be taken by the college against students involved in ragging:

✓ To keep away students thoroughly from educational benefits and attendance in the class.

✓ To prevent from scholarships, fellowship and other educational benefits.

✓ To prevent appearing from all types of exams.

✓ To keep away such students from state, international conferences, seminars, workshops, competitions or youth festivals and sports activities.

The fine will be charged immediately against such students as per the management norms.

✓ To terminate the admission of such students.
